Accident Ratings

    Non-Preventable
  • Accident in which the driver is not found at fault and no reasonable action could have prevented the accident.
    Type 1
  • Accident involving little or no damage. The driver is found at fault. An example of a Tyle 1 accident would be when a UTS sideview mirror comes into contact with a light post but does not cause any significant damage. The second Type 1 accident caused by a driver goes on their record as a Type 2 accident.
    Type 2
  • Accident in which the driver is found at fault and results in little to moderate damage. Type 2 accidents are usually due to a single driver error such as a tracking mishap.
    Type 3
  • Accident in which the driver is found at fault and results in moderate damage. Generally, Type 3 accidents are due to multiple driver errors or has a high degree of negligence or the accident occured due to an illegal maneuver. The second Type 3 accident caused by a driver will lead to immediate dismissal.
    Type 4
  • Accident in which the driver is found at fault and results in moderate or severe damage. Type 4 accidents generally result in the issuance of a traffic citation or Type B safety offense to the driver. Type 4 accidents may lead to a dismissal. Type B safety offenses that do not accompany third degree accidents count as 1 point. If this point becomes the deciding factor for this section of the review, the safety offense will be enforced at the discretion of the operations supervisors.
