Permits for Health System Employees
Health System Employees may be eligible the following types of permits based on availability and classification:
Commuter Permits
Due to the limited availability of parking in the Health System, most Health System employees will need to purchase a Commuter permit. Commuter permits are priced significantly lower than the more convenient Reserved permits, and are available without having to join a waiting list.
Additionally, the University Transit Service provides frequent and conveinent service to all of the Commuter parking lots to help employees easily and timely get to and from their place of employment.
Blue Permit |

Permit Type: Blue (Commuter Parking - General Permit)
On-Sale Date: On Sale Year Round
Valid Locations: Commuter Lots (U-Hall, John Paul Jones Arena, Carruthers, The Park, Police Station, Visitors Center, Rehabilitation Center, Ivy Stacks, and Fontana Food Center)
Additional Locations: A10, E3, and D3 after 3:30pm
Price Per Year: $192.00 (prorated $16.00 per month)
Details: Blue and Red (see below) permits are the most easily accessible and inexpensive parking permits available to Health System employees. Parking at University Hall and the John Paul Jones Arena is restricted during certain John Paul Jones Arena events, requiring permit holders to relocate to the Emmet/Ivy Garage. Please check the JPJ Impact Schedule frequently if you are a Blue permit holder. Blue permits will be available for sale at the parking and Transportation Office, located at 1101 Millmont Street, between the hours of 7:30am-5:00pm, Monday-Friday (please check the Service Schedule for holiday closings).
University Transit Service: Health System employees who work at the main Health System (University Hospital, West Complex, and 1222 Jefferson Park Medical Building area) will be best served by UTS's Green Route. After 7:00pm and on weekends, employees will need to use a combination of the U-Loops (Outer or Inner Loop) and the Northline Connector. |

Details: Permits assigned by Health System Parking Office. Priority is given to "hands-on" patient care employees.
University Transit Service: Health System employees who work at the main Health System (University Hospital, West Complex, and 1222 Jefferson Park Medical Building area) will be best served by UTS's Stadium/Hospital Shuttle. After 8:00pm and on weekends, employees will need to use the Outer U-Loop to get from the Stadium to the Health System, and the Inner U-Loop for return trips. |

Piedmont Faculty Housing |

Permit Type: F3 (Reserved Parking - Faculty Housing Permits)

Valid Locations: F3 lots throughout the Piedmont Faculty Housing Area
Price Per Year: $144.00 (prorated $12.00 a month)
Details: Students, faculty, or staff who live in Piedmont Faculty Housing are eligible to purchase reserved parking permits for parking lots associated with their residence area. Resident permits are valid in the area noted on the permit and in the Orange/Storage areas of U-Hall. Two guest passes, valid in designated guest areas within resident parking lots, are given to residents of the Piedmont Faculty Housing area.
Special Instructions: If the lot is full, permit holders should proceed to the Orange/Storage areas at University Hall (U-Hall). These areas include the Cage Lot located behind U-Hall near the turf field and the railroad tracks, and at the East Lot located between the McCue Center and Emmet Street. Please note that the lots at U-Hall will not be available during certain events at the John Paul Jones Arena (JPJ). Permit holders should regularly check the JPJ Event Impact Schedule for specific dates and times.
University Transit Service: Residents needing to relocate to the lots at U-Hall will be best served by the UTS's Northline Connector which provides service from U-Hall to the Runk Dining Hall near the Piedmont Faculty Housing area. Residents may also use a combination of the Northline and the Inner U-Loop. |

Details: Health System 2nd Shift Staff may be eligible to purchase a 2nd Shift Access Card for the 11th Street Garage. The Access Card may only be used in the garage between the hours of 2:30pm - 4:00am. Please contact the Health System Parking Office at 434-924-5147 for more information. |

Lee Street Garage Night Time Access |

Valid Locations: Lee Street Garage
Price Per Year: $192.00 (prorated $16.00 per month)
Details: Health System 2nd Shift Staff may be eligible to purchase a 2nd Shift Access Transponder for the Lee Street Garage. The Access Card may only be used in the garage between the hours of 5:30pm-8:45am Sunday through Thursday only. Night time parking on Friday and Saturday is strictly prohibited. Day time parking on Saturdays and Sundays is prohibited.
Employees may park in the 11th Street Garage between 5:30pm on Friday until Monday morning at 6:00am. Do not park in the 11th Street Garage if you are unable to exit prior to 6:00am Monday morning. |

Reserved Permits
Health System employees are also eligible for the more convenient Reserved parking permits based on assignments made by the Health System. Assignments are based on job category, schedule, and length of service. Since these types of permit are in high demand, their availability is limited. Health System employees interested in obtaining a Reserved permit should contact their manager or contact the Health System parking Operations Office at (434) 924-5147 for more information. The Health Systems parking Operations is not a division of the Department of Parking and Transportation.
