Members' trip to the Hopewell Area
Tuesday, May 4, 2010
Please join us for a visit to three homes with private art collections in the Hopewell area. The first home, built in the 1960s, has a panoramic view of the James River from all of its spacious rooms. Inside, there is a comfortable elegance with an eclectic mix of family art and collectable art.
The second house, built in 1934, has old Virginia charm and the only Gillette garden in Hopewell. The art collection is an interesting mix of oil paintings and prints. The antique furnishings are exquisite treasures of several generations.
A Georgian Revival, built in 1929, the third home overlooks the confluence of the Appomattox and James Rivers. The owners have a large china collection and an extensive collection of paintings. A beautiful garden in the back of the property is lovingly tended.
