Increasing access to the collections
ARTstor Digital Library
The Museum is digitizing its collections for online teaching and research through ARTstor Images for Education & Scholarship. Selected images and descriptions include: Old Master prints, American and European paintings and sculpture, and modern prints, as well as African, Asian, and Native American art. Museum collections staff are collaborating with the McIntire Department of Art Visual Resources Collection and the Fiske-Kimball Fine Arts Library on this initiative.
U.Va. faculty, students, and staff may access images and descriptions of the collections through ARTstor from U.Va. IP addresses or, if off-grounds, by first connecting to UVA Anywhere.

Enter the "ARTstor Digital Library" by clicking on "Go"in the upper right corner of the screen.

Object study
The Museum's collection is available to enhance and support the curriculum of University courses in all departments. U.Va. Faculty may reserve the Print Study Gallery for seminars and to make works available from the collection for research, class papers and exams. The Research Center is available for small classes and individual students or faculty. Faculty who are familiar with the Museum's collection may request specific objects from the collection. If you are unfamiliar with the Museum's collection, our curatorial staff will assist you with selections that will complement your course syllabus. To reserve the Print Study Gallery or Research Center, please email Nicole Anastasi or call 434.924.6323.
ARTemis
Curatorial and digitization staff have posted 765 object records including 500 images to ARTemis, a Cold Fusion searchable database developed through a U.Va. Teaching + Technology Initiative project to increase accessibility to the collections.
